Governing Body
The Governing Body oversees St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School and St. Edmund’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School as a single, two-form entry school operating across split sites. Governors work closely with the Headteacher, Diocese, Local Authority, and other stakeholders to ensure the school meets the needs of its pupils and the wider community.
The Governing Body consists of representatives from various groups within our school community, including parents, staff, the Local Authority, the local community, and the Parish. Working as a team, governors collaborate with the Headteacher and staff to uphold the Catholic character of the school and make key decisions about its management. Their role is to help create a happy, safe environment where every child can reach their full potential.
The Governing Body meets at least once a term, with all governors serving a four-year term. Each meeting focuses on specific areas:
- Standards – monitors academic performance, pupil progress, and the Catholic life of the school.
- Resources – oversees finances, staffing, and the maintenance of school buildings.
